Terms of Service

Effective Date: February 28, 2026

Last Updated: February 28, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SATIS platform, website, API, BGP threat feeds, and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Setec Astronomy, Inc. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), a corporation operating AS23026.

By creating an account, accessing the Service, or using our API, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Accounts

2.1 Registration

You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, API keys, and session tokens.

2.2 API Keys

API keys (prefixed tck_) are confidential credentials. You must not share, publish, or embed API keys in client-side code or public repositories. You are responsible for all activity under your API keys. Compromised keys should be revoked immediately via the portal.

2.3 Account Security

You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Subscription Plans & Billing

3.1 Plans

The Service is offered in three tiers:

  • Community (Free) — 100 API calls/day, no BGP peering, no SSE streaming
  • Professional ($299/month) — 10,000 API calls/day, 1 BGP session, SSE access
  • Enterprise ($999/month) — Unlimited API calls, unlimited BGP sessions, SLA

3.2 Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. All fees are in US Dollars and are non-refundable except as required by law. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice.

3.3 Downgrades

If you downgrade from a paid plan, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Active BGP sessions exceeding your new plan's limit will be suspended.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to launch attacks, harass individuals, or engage in any illegal activity
  • Submit false, fabricated, or misleading threat intelligence data
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Use the API to build a competing threat intelligence service without written permission
  • Exceed your plan's API rate limits through circumvention (e.g., rotating API keys)
  • Redistribute the BGP threat feed to third parties without an Enterprise plan
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Use automated means to scrape or harvest data beyond your plan's API allowance

5. Threat Data

5.1 Nature of Data

The Service distributes threat intelligence, including IP addresses, CIDR ranges, AS numbers, and associated metadata. This data is sourced from automated systems (fail2ban, threat feeds) and may contain errors or false positives.

5.2 No Warranty on Accuracy

Threat data is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that any IP address identified as a threat is in fact malicious. False positives can and do occur. You are responsible for validating threat data before taking enforcement action that could affect legitimate traffic.

5.3 Data Retention

Threat entries on the blockchain are retained according to their TTL (time-to-live). Expired threats are no longer enforced but remain on the immutable ledger for audit purposes. Account data is retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion.

5.4 Contribution

If you publish threats to the SATIS network (via API or fail2ban integration), you grant Setec Astronomy, Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to distribute that threat data to other participants in the network.

6. BGP Peering Terms

6.1 Blackhole Routes

BGP blackhole routes announced by SATIS (AS64999, community 64999:666) instruct your router to drop traffic to the specified destinations. You are solely responsible for implementing appropriate prefix filters, maximum prefix limits, and safety checks on your routing infrastructure.

6.2 No Liability for Routing Decisions

We are not liable for any service disruption, traffic loss, or collateral damage resulting from BGP routes announced by the Service. You accept these routes at your own risk and should test in a controlled environment before deploying to production.

6.3 WireGuard Tunnels

BGP sessions are transported over WireGuard encrypted tunnels. You must not share WireGuard private keys or tunnel configurations with unauthorized parties.

7. API Terms

7.1 Rate Limits

API usage is subject to the rate limits of your subscription plan. Exceeding limits will result in HTTP 429 responses. Persistent abuse may result in account suspension.

7.2 Availability

We target 99.9% API uptime for Professional and Enterprise plans but do not guarantee it for Community plans. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated at least 24 hours in advance.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SETEC ASTRONOMY, INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Setec Astronomy, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your routing decisions based on data from the Service; or (d) threat data you publish to the network.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or pose a security risk to the network. Upon termination:

  • Your API keys will be revoked
  • Active BGP sessions will be torn down
  • WireGuard tunnels will be decommissioned
  • Account data will be retained for 30 days, then deleted

11. Privacy Policy

11.1 Data We Collect

  • Account data: Name, email, company, hashed password, plan selection
  • Usage data: API call counts, IP addresses, request timestamps
  • Threat data: IP addresses, CIDR ranges, AS numbers, and metadata you publish
  • Peering data: ASN, tunnel configuration, BGP session state

11.2 How We Use Data

  • To provide and improve the Service
  • To enforce rate limits and plan restrictions
  • To distribute threat intelligence to network participants
  • To communicate with you about your account and the Service
  • To comply with legal obligations

11.3 Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Threat data you publish is shared with other participants in the SATIS network by design — that is the core purpose of the Service. We may share data with law enforcement if required by valid legal process.

11.4 Data Security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (TLS, WireGuard), hashed credentials (PBKDF2-SHA256, 600,000 iterations), and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11.5 Your Rights

You may request export or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at [email protected]. Note that threat data published to the blockchain is immutable and cannot be retroactively deleted from the ledger, though it can be revoked (marked inactive).

11.6 Cookies

We use a single session cookie (tcs_session) for authentication. It is httpOnly, secure, and SameSite=Lax. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or third-party advertising pixels.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to the address on your account at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
