SATIS Shield vs. FastNetMon

FastNetMon prices by traffic band, so your cost shifts as your bandwidth usage changes, on top of a one-time activation fee. Shield is one flat price per network, with no bandwidth tiers to track.

Questions

Is FastNetMon's traffic-band model better for volumetric DDoS specifically?

FastNetMon is built around flow-based DDoS detection, which is a different mechanism than RTBH blackholing. Shield stops connection-completing attacks (brute force, exploit attempts, C2 callbacks) effectively, but does not stop a volumetric flood on its own — you'd still want uRPF on your own router for that, which we document but don't configure for you.

Why no activation fee on Shield?

Peering is self-service and auto-approved — you get a config in minutes, not after a manual provisioning step, so there's no setup labor to bill for.
