Flowtriq runs an agent on every server you want to protect, so the bill grows with your fleet. Shield blackholes at the network edge instead — one flat price whether you're protecting one server or a hundred.

Not necessarily — they solve different layers. Shield blocks connection-based attacks (brute force, exploit attempts, C2 callbacks) upstream of your network, before traffic reaches any host. An agent-based tool can still add host-level visibility on top of that; they're not mutually exclusive, but Shield's per-network pricing means you're not paying more as your fleet grows.
At small scale, maybe — do the math for your own node count. Shield's flat $59/mo is the better deal once you're protecting more than about 7 nodes at Flowtriq's $7.99/node rate, and the gap only widens as you grow.
